Medical Imaging
The aim of this project is to develop a PET detector module which utilises silicon pixel detectors coupled to scintillators and readout electronics adapted from high energy physics electronics. The new geometry provided by such a module offers improved spatial resolution and a reduced number of scintillators in comparison with standard PET cameras. Two gantries have been constructed and installed at Royal Prince Alfred Hospital, Australia and The Jefferson lab, US.
Collaborators: University of Melbourne (experimental particle physics group), RPAH PET Department
New portable probes for the detection of radioisotopes based on semiconductor photodiodes coupled with scintillators.
Collaborators: AMCRYS-H, SPA BIT, Ukraine
Film dosimetry for quality assurande in CT imaging and radiotherapy
Biomolecular imaging on gamma camera at CMRP (TAT)
