Molecular Dynamics Simulation of Carbon Nanotubes

During 2005 this project was broadened so that advanced somputer simulation techniques could be applied to a number of materials-related projects being conducted in the Faculty and research institutes. CREAM funds were used to purchase a one-tear license of ANSYS & CFX to conduct simulation studies of micro contact in hot and cold rolling, and mixed film lubrication with emulsion in cold rolling.

The project's experimental studies into the application of carbon nanotubes in magnetorheological fluids may form the basis for simulation studies in the future.
