YEAR 11 2008 DESIGN & TECHNOLOGY HIGH SCHOOL COMPETITION

We are pleased to bring you the 2008 Year 11 Design & Technology Competition and we would encourage you to help your Students to become involved. Student involvement will enhance their understanding of the Engineering Profession and what it has to offer as a possible future career.

The sponsorship for the major Prizes and Awards for this Competition is $3635. These Prizes and Awards are detailed on the enclosed Competition Poster. They are funded from a Vice-Chancellor’s Challenge Grant of $15,000. All the Prizes and Awards for this Competition will be announced and presented at the combined Presentation and Awards Evening at the University of Wollongong on Wednesday 19th November, 2008. Prizes and Awards for the Faculty’s Year 12 Engineering Studies Competition will be presented at this Presentation and Awards Evening as well.

The following are enclosed:

• Two (2) posters for the Competition

• Three (3) entry forms for the Competition

• A copy of the Conditions of Entry for the Competition.

Please note that the “best two” Portfolios from your Year 11 Design & Technology class may be entered in the Competition. If one (1) of these Portfolios has not been written by a female, a third Portfolio may be submitted. These Portfolios will be considered for the Women in Design & Technology Awards.

Entries must be submitted by 5:00pm on Friday, 26^th September, 2008.
