Who can apply and what will I study?

There are two courses available in Rolling Stock Engineering:

  • Master of Rolling Stock Engineering
  • Graduate Certificate in Rolling Stock Engineering 

The Graduate Certificate in Rolling Stock Engineering comprises four subjects. The Master of Rolling Stock Engineering follows on from the Graduate Certificate program and comprises an additional 3 subjects, including a dissertation project (equivalent to 2 subjects). 

What will I study?

This course enables practitioners to develop specialist knowledge and application of engineering principles to the specification, design, manufacture and maintenance of rolling stock and rolling stock systems. The key areas covered (traction, vehicle design, safety and braking systems, dynamics and bogies) are supported by subjects on rolling stock environment and the design, construction and maintenance of rolling stock as an overall system.
