The University is responsible for major research developments - experimental, analytical and numerical methods have facilitates successful undergraduate thesis projects and postgraduate research. Research in environmental engineering is usually conducted through the Geo-Engironment-Mine Engineering Research centre.
Excellent computer facilities for research students have been established and these facilities are regularly upgraded. Several environmental engineering laboratories with advanced analytical equipment are available.

Entry Requirements
A Bachelor of Engineering Degree from a recognised tertiary institution. Other qualifications, together with relevant professional experience, will be considered.
Purpose of the Program
The Graduate Diploma in Engineering is intended to provided studies in engineering and may provide entry to the Masters - Research program for students who do not have the necessary entry qualifications.

Entry Requirements
A Bachelor of Engineering degree from a recognised tertiary institution
Purpose of the Program
The Master of Engineering Practice has been carefully designed to meet the needs of engineering leaders of the future. The MEngPrac allows practising engineers to build on and update their knowledge, and learn in additional areas to those taken in their first degree.
The core subjects develop skills that all practising engineers needs, and the choice of electives allows you to specialise in:
- principles of environmental engineering
- wastewaterengineering
- water supply engineering
- industrial waste engineering and cleaner production: and
- solids and hazardous waste engineering and management
Program Structure
The typical program for the award of the MEngPrac (Environmental) follows. With permission, ubjects from other discipline areas and degree programs may be substituted when consistent with the program requirements. This allows students to broaden their knowledge into other areas of engineering.
International students must set their program of study prior to arriving in Australia.

Dissertation
The dissertation is a project allowing you to pursue a particular area indepth. The dissertation develops skills in information retrieval, project planning and organisation analysis, problem solving and the effective communication of results.
Articulation to Master of Business Administration (MBA)
Articulation into an MBA program after the MEngPrac is available. This requires an additional seven Graduate School of Business and Professional Development subjects to be completed.

Purpose of the Program
This course provides training in research and also gives greater depth of understanding in special areas of environmental engineering
Program Structure
The Master of Engineering is studied by a combination of coursework and dissertation.
A typical program follows for the environmental engineering specialisation. Note that a range of other electives is available, including electives listed under other degree programs.
