In February each year, the Centre organises an immensely well-received
International Conference on Educational Leadership on a topical
theme selected by its Conference Management Committee. The Conference
theme for the recently completed 2006 Conference was Distributive
Leadership: Implications for Practice. Leading Learning Communities:
Strategy, Action and Reflection has been chosen as the focus for
the 2007 Conference. Click

for the current year
The main attraction of the Centre's Annual Conference is the outstanding
array of international and local keynote speakers and workshop
presenters, and the judicious balance between research and practitioner
perspectives. Over the past five years Conference speakers/presenters
have included Ms Christine Nixon APM, Prof. Stephen Kagan, Dr Margaret
Wheatley, and Prof. Myron Rogers (USA); Prof. Patrick Duignan,
Prof. Jenny Gore, Prof. Geoff Scott and Prof. Steve Dinham (Australia),
Prof. Carol Cardno (New Zealand), and Prof. Pat Thompson (UK).
Participants in our conferences are typically school leaders,
teachers, school leadership teams, and systemic administrators
from government and non-government education sectors, management
educators and university academics.
The Conference is cosponsored by the University of Wollongong
Faculty of Education,
the Catholic Diocese of Wollongong, NSW Department of Education
and Training, and the Australian College of Educators. Click here
