The launch of the Faculty of Educations new Faculty Management System took place on Tuesday 4th October.

Its was with great pleasure that the Dean opened the first stage of the Faculty Management System. The system has been under development for the past year and will greatly assist in may areas of Faculty data management.

Stage one includes publication collection, personal profile management, research group profiles as well as a facility for staff to create their own personal CV. Stages being developed for the future include Grant collection, Research Student profiles and complete integration of all aspects of the Faculties workloads model.

The system is a one stop shop for entering publications. A publication only needs to be entered once, by one author and it is then carried over to all relevant Research Centres and reports (including DEST, Workloads and UOW) as well as being able to be included in the CV's of any author involved.

The system allows staff to keep their own personal information up-to-date through a simple web interface. This profile is then also used across any research centres that they are involved in, so they only need to keep their information up-to-date in the one place.

Research centre co-ordinators can now dynamically control their research centre profiles, manage the list of members (both faculty and external) as well as being able to generate reports on publications for their centre.
