	Faculty of Education students who received awards for the academic achievements

The Faculty of Education Annual Prize and Award Ceremony took place on Friday 23rd September.

The location was the foyer of the McKinnon building where nearly 200 people turned up to enjoy this special event. Both Staff and Students were acknowledged for their hard work and good results.

As well as our usual array of University acknowledgements; and the much appreciated ongoing support of outside groups such as the Alumni, the NSW Minerals Council, The Australian College of Education, The Math's Association of NSW and the Australian Literacy Educators Association; our students were the recipients of new awards and prizes generously provided by a number of groups.

This year we listed for the first time the 2005  Physical and Health Education Alumni Award, the 2005 URAC Academic Achievement Award for a 1st year Bachelor of Education Physical and Health Education Student and the 2005 Bishop Ingham Award for Academic Excellence in Religious Education.

Staff who had secured research grants and those who had been acknowledged by outside organizations for their significant contribution to the profession where also recipients on the day.

The Dean concluded that this event was strong testimony to the Faculty motto that Teaching Matters',
