Faculty Students On the Move - creating and designing public art
Faculty of Education undergraduate students turned assessment into fun when they were involved in constructing and designing recycled suitcases into works of art. As part of an creative arts elective second and third year primary education students became involved in a community project to design artworks. The artworks became a creative public exhibition for the Thirroul Seaside and Arts Festival titled Art on the Move. The students received great and positive feedback from the public of the northern suburbs as the 34 suitcases were displayed in a different location each day for the week leading up to the festival. Each year Faculty students are involved and the public looks forward to their 'public display of creativity'.
