Frequently Asked Questions (FAQ)

Primary teaching is a very rewarding career. Young children need sensitive and caring teachers to begin their basic education in the Key Learning Areas of Mathematics, Language, Science and Technology, Human Society and Its Environment, Creative Arts, and Physical Education, Personal Development and Health.

A primary teacher needs to be a person who cares about the development of children and is sensitive to their needs and aspirations. It is a demanding career as you have to understand a wide range of subject matter as well as the specific developmental needs of young children. However, it is also a very exciting and interesting career as you see young children mature as learners and as citizens over the years.

A four year Bachelor of Primary Education degree qualifies you to teach in schools in NSW schools.
