A secure and sustainable supply of energy is fundamental to the prosperity of our region, our country and our world.

Our growing global population and increased energy consumption are placing mounting pressure on limited resources. Reliance on conventional sources of energy is not sustainable in the long term and has the potential to lead to significant environmental impacts through pollution and climate change.

It is vital that we find new ways to generate, distribute, store and utilise energy. Responding to these environmental challenges is one of the most pressing issues facing our society today.

In recognition of the importance of these new challenges, the University of Wollongong has established an Energies Future Network. This network includes multi-disciplinary teams with specialists from the Faculties of Engineering, Science, Commerce, and Informatics.

These researchers are working on projects to improve energy conversion and storage, revolutionise energy production and delivery, enhance power quality, and understand more about our impact on the atmosphere.
