The University's search engine, Panoptic, was developed by Australia's National Research Agency (CSIRO) and the Australian National University in Canberra, Australia.

Panoptic has been optimised to produce high quality result lists tailored to the needs of educational users. It incorporates proven algorithms for measuring the similarity of the query to each webpage in the index and is designed to promote key pages to the top of the ranking.
