"Untitled" by Bert Flugelman is the most recent purchase of this artist's work. It is a good record of the nearly forty year progression of Flugelman's sculptural work from the austere geometric forms in "Balls on a Stand" and "Gateway to Mount Keira-Wave" through to the figuration of "Winged Figure - Lawrence Hargrave Memorial" and the wood and steel elements of the works from the "Transistion" series.

There is a certain playfullness to this work that is both a combination of steel, it's base and the hooked protrusion and wood, the main body of the piece. It could be a totem, or marker, but it could alternatively be some sort of exotic squawking bird.

This piece like a lot of Flugelman's recent work is built on an intimate scale and uses the suggestion of the wood form around his propery in Jamberoo.
