Electives

In Creative Arts single degrees (Course 840 and 852) you need 36 credit points of electives, of which a minimum of 18 credit points must be taken at 200 level or above. It is sometimes possible to accumulate more elective credit points than this if you wish or because you take one or more 8cp elective subjects. This is not a problem, but you must satisfy the 36 credit points rule.

In double degrees with Creative Arts, the number of elective credit points you require will vary according to the major you are doing, and this can vary from up to 56 credit points (in a degree with Arts) to nil (in a fully prescribed degree with Law).

Electives may be taken in any faculty, provided you meet pre-requisite for entry to the subject: you might choose subjects offered by your school or others in Creative Arts, or from programs in other faculties on campus, and even from other tertiary institutions through cross institutional study, or have elective credit granted as advanced standing on the basis of previously completed studies.
