Lisa Anderson is an artist with over 25 years experience creating and exhibiting paintings, drawings and sculptures both nationally and Internationally. Her work is included in collection such as Artbank, the Alden Tate Collection in New York, University collection such as the School of Art and Design in Dublin, the University of Technology, Sydney, the University of Wollongong and the University of Tasmania.
Lisa's works have evolved around the use of light as both a working element and a metaphor. Projection works include Singing up Stones on the Sydney Opera House and the Harbour Bridge and Memories on a Grand Scale on the Australian Museum. Literal inclusions of light include Wink a neon sculpture in the Brisbane Powerhouse Centre for the Live Arts and the gold leaf layered sculpture Fantasy Portholes at the Lance Child Care Centre in the Rocks, Sydney.
Her current series of works titled Chandeliers and Lustres consist of two paintings with bricolage of gems, pearls, gold leaf and glitter which are then hand-cut and woven tighter to create another work. This work is then manipulated with further materials and glazes to create the final work layered with light reflective elements and glazes.
Lisa's drawing utilise text and images with heavy use of graphite, pastels and transparent papers.
The sculptural works juxtapose light within other forms. Referencing light as an enclosing shape that keeps us safe and out of the void. Perhaps architectural in reference.
