Liz Jeneid

Honorary Fellow
Diploma of Teaching, Sydney Kindergarten Teachers' College; Master of Creative Arts, University of Wollongong

After teaching visual arts for 20 years, Liz is now an Honorary Fellow in the Faculty of Creative Arts, University of Wollongong. As well as teaching textiles and visual investigation, she introduced a Book Arts program in 1990. Liz was Director of the Long Gallery for six years, instigated a visiting artist program for overseas artists which included raising money for the program. Prior to teaching at the University of Wollongong and after studying textiles in the USA, she set up a production weaving studio in Sydney and combined this with working as a community artist, travelling extensively throughout NSW. Liz continues to be involved in developing community awareness of the arts.
In 2005 she was a lecturer at Paper & Book Intensive, in Colorado USA and currently teaches textile and book arts workshops nationally and internationally.

Liz Jeneid has been exhibiting work over the last 25 years and has had six solo exhibitions and has taken part in many group exhibitions in Australia and overseas including the Tapestry Triennale in Lodz Poland, Herning Denmark, and Kochi Japan. Her work is included in the Powerhouse Museum, University of Southern Queensland, Mackay Regional Gallery, Goulburn Regional Art Gallery, Wollongong City Gallery, University of Wollongong and private collections in Australia and overseas.

Being exposed to other cultures and environments have influenced her work and travel has been a great part of her life. She has had residencies in Australia and also in Paris, Skopelos, Greece, and on Arctic and Antarctic expeditions.
