Tide

Tide, an independent literary journal, showcases the works of emerging poets, prose writers, playwrights and visual artists. It is produced annually by the third-year editing students of the University of Wollongong.

Tide – named because it spells ‘edit’ backwards – has been published since May 2004. The students work as editors, fundraisers, designers, and print officers in the space of thirteen weeks to produce the 100-page journal.

Tide is proudly supported by the UOW Faculty of Creative Arts, design and creative writing lecturers, businesses in the Illawarra and Sutherland Shire, community members, artists and writers.

“This provides a wonderful opportunity for students to learn practical, hands-on skills in editing and publishing.” Dr Shady Cosgrove, lecturer Creative Writing.
