Agnieszka Golda and Martin Johnson

20 August – 9 September 2009

“Of course I believe that other worlds exist” Hayao Miyazaki

They fell straight through the device and sensed a whole other world. Insisting that they took the trip: will others take their testimony on faith?

The FCA Gallery presents an exhibition by Lecturer in Visual Arts and DCA Candidate Agnieszka Golda in conjunction with artist Martin Johnson.

Contact is part of an ongoing collaboration that explores forms of affective practices and labour.

Utilising their recent fieldwork in France, Poland and Japan, Johnson and Golda investigate the functions of affect in an intercultural context.

Golda’s DCA research is based on Sensography: evoking intersensoriality and ritual gestures through an installation space and an interdisciplinary approach to art practice.
