Navigating the Moment
18 May – 1 June
With this exhibition, Clare Cochrane takes us through her experiences recorded and collected on a field trip to Hill End late last year. Based on information, photos, traces and objects the pieces demonstrate her interest in cataloguing, codifying and systemising the subjective experience. “My work is concerned with the anxiety of autobiographical navigations and conceptualising methodologies that withhold and reinterpret memory, experience and visual investigations.” says the artist.
Diane Epoff’s work explores the notion of place as a work-in-progress, using digital photographic media and systems to map specific sites. Her 2005 exhibition in the Long Gallery titled 'Terra Firma - Terra Alba', documented the visual archaeology, and explored colonist relationships with the natural environment at Bundanon.
She has recently returned from Cyprus where she has been researching and studying at the Paphos Theatre site, as a member of the UOW 'Sonic Architectures Project' team where she was constructing visual maps of the ancient theatre and related sites.
