pho·bi·a
noun /ˈfōbēə/
phobias, plural
1. An extreme or irrational fear of or aversion to something.
Now in its fourth year, Nothing to See Here (NTSH) is a mini arts festival taking place over two nights in early August. Originally organised by third year BCA Performance students - members of the Appelspiel Collective - Nothing to See Here takes place annually. Each year, NTSH is initiated by a different group of performance students, who in collaboration with their peers from other art form areas, develop the theme, and curate, and manage all aspects of the program.
Nothing to See Here includes short performance works – both text-based and devised - as well as a range of visual art projects and installations showcasing the skills and talents of Creative Arts students from different disciplines and art form areas. NTSH takes place in and around Creative Arts’ Building 25, including the performance space (25:168), the creative arts foyer and balcony, the black box (25:G18) and its surroundings, which will be converted into an immersive art experience.
Each piece has been inspired, at least in part, by this year’s theme Phobia. Both nights begin with the Nothing to See Here Installations, one hour of gallery style installation and visual art works. The audience is invited to view, engage, interact and even participate with prose & poetry readings, performance art, installations and diverse artworks encompassing a wide range of media.
This is followed by the Nothing to See Here Short Works, a selection of short plays, performance art, dance, and music performance, presented in Creative Arts’ Performance Space for a seated audience.
Come along, eat cake, drink tea, applaud, giggle, cry and have fun!
Seating is limited so bookings are recommended.
