The Faculty of Creative Arts presents TITUS, by Second Year Performance students for three nights only!
"If one good Deed in all my life I did, I do repent it from my very Soule."
Based on Shakespeare’s earliest and bloodiest play, Titus Andronicus, tells the story of a Roman General, TITUS, trapped in a vicious and endless cycle of revenge and carnage with his enemy, Tamora Queen of the Goths.
Murder, rape, and dismemberment are the order of the day in this extraordinary tale of wickedness, lust and malice. The milk of human kindness is entirely absent as men, sons, fathers, women, and slaves indulge themselves in excessive cruelty and violence ostensibly in the defence of honor and their families.
Catastrophic in outlook, Director Tim Maddock nevertheless takes a stripped back approach to this version of TITUS, preferring to focus on the actors, the language and the empty space.
Vengeance is a dish best served cold. Come and see what the second years have cooked up for you?!
