Peer Gynt

24th - 27th May

By Henrik Ibsen a new translation by May-Brit Akerholt, directed by Patrick Nolan

Peer Gynt is a lying, drunk, violent, yet shockingly deplorable human being. He is occasionally good to his mother, ecstatic about women, fearful of men, sorely affected by the absence of his father, deranged with ambition and sick from failure.

Patrick Nolan has directed for Opera Australia, NIDA and the Melbourne Theatre Company. His innovative and contemporary style of direction puts a present-day spin on one of Ibsen's classic works.
