Week 8
(8 - 10 Sept @ 8.00pm + 9 Sept @ 5.30pm)
Postgraduate Production
Written and directed by Linda Nicholls-Gidley, performed by Sean O’Riordan

Hearing Voices is an exploration of the shifting accents used on the Australian stage in classical theatre since the 1940s. The sounds are heard and experienced through John Bell, his creative journey mirrors that of the accent shift.
Hearing Voices is a multi-media production utilising spoken word, video footage and voice over to reflect the aural/storytelling nature of the theatre.

Part of Linda Nicholls-Gidley’s research program for her MCA-R, she is researching the manner in which use of pronunciation in Australian performances of Shakespeare have changed with time.
