This performance features an exciting variety of interstate artists descending on the Illawarra.
Lawrence English, Thembi Soddell, Bruce Mowson and Camilla Hannan represent the exciting future of Australian Sound Art/Experimental Music. In August/September they will be visiting 9 major regional and capital cities in the eastern states to perform their unique
and diverse sounds. This tour reaches Armidale, Wagga Wagga, Sydney, Melbourne, Wollongong, Cairns, Brisbane, Bendigo and Toowoomba, providing a diverse audience with the opportunity to hear the sounds represented by new Australian experimental music label, Cajid Media.
Established in early 2004, Cajid Media aims to promote the exceptional standards of the Australian sound art scene, both here and overseas. It’s first 3 releases, Intimacy by Thembi Soddell, Static Tones by Bruce Mowson, and Transit by Lawrence English have already proven its success, receiving excellent reviews both locally and in overseas publications (visit http://www.cajid.com for reviews and other information).
Camilla Hannan’s first album More Songs about Factories will be released for the tour, with Thembi Soddell’s second release Instance soon to follow.
