
The Faculty of Creative Arts celebrated its annual Awards Night on 15 May to recognise the outstanding achievements of students in 2011.
Over 130 guests attended the evening which was held in the Faculty of Creative Arts’ new performance facility Backstage Hope.

Forty-four Dean’s Merit List and nine Industry Award recipients were recognised during the evening, which also showcased the talents of Performance, Sound and Digital Media students in a series of performances and exhibited screen works.

Rose Maher on vocals, accompanied by Solomon Thomas on guitar

Jessica Corcoran on vocals, accompanied by Sean Crombie on piano
3 Minute Thesis Competition - Faculty Heat
Janne Lindrum (Doctor of Creative Arts, Creative Writing) was announced the winner of the Faculty Heat of the 3 Minute Thesis Competition after presenting a compelling oration on her thesis The Uncrowned King.
The judging panel comprised of Professor Amanda Lawson, Associate Professor Brogan Bunt and Associate Professor David Vance.
Janne will receive a prize of $300 for her wining presentation.
Congratulations also goes to runner-up Angela Williams for her presentation We are players in the narrative identity system. Angela will receive a prize of $150.
All ten Faculty winners from across UOW will now present at the UOW final of the Three Minute Thesis Competition which is being held on 27 June 2012.
