Faculty of Creative Arts teacher in Performance, Catherine McKinnon, celebrated the release of her new book The Nearly Happy Family on 2 June 2008.
Catherine, originally from Adelaide, has a background in film and theatre and has written, directed and helped develop many new Australian plays.
After working with the Red Shed Theatre Company and the State Theatre Company in South Australia, Catherine moved to Sydney where she also joined the University of Wollongong as a director and tutor, while completing her first novel.
In 2006 she won the Penguin/Australian Women’s Weekly prize for short-story writing, for Haley and the Sea.
The Nearly Happy Family was launched at Gleebooks, 49 Glebe Point Road, Glebe on Friday 27 June.
