Headland

A night of poetry, art, spoken word & music

Faculty of Creative Arts Lecturer Susan Angel, with the support of the School of Journalism and Creative Writing, and the South Coast Writers Centre will bring Illawarra residents the first in a series of Friday night cultural evenings on 9 November at the Headlands Hotel in Austinmer.

The evening of poetry, music and art will feature readings from poet in exile Alan Wearne, writer Shady Cosgrove, the Illawarra’s Common Cold Poetry Collective along with music from Wil Massey & the Ghost Trio and Tiajuana.

The newly renovated historic Headlands Hotel provides a fantastic venue and ambiance for the evening of shared entertainment and also incorporates gallery space for visual artists.

The aim is to establish a regular opportunity for local writers, poets, musicians and visual artists to showcase their talents and the proceedings will include an Open Mic segment for all who wish to participate.
