Wollongong Audio Walks

Students from Writ 328 Writing for Sound Production class have produced a series of Audio Walks recorded around the Illawarra region. Some of the sites documented include the Berkley and Unanderra Hostels, the Fairy Meadow Migrant Hostel, Port Kembla Steelworks and beach, Keira Street Wollongong, Stanwell Park beach and Mangerton. The pieces have been made in response to the Migrant Heritage Project of the Wollongong Council, and have been developed as prototypes for further projects.

An audio walk allows the listener to experience the sounds from these environments, with an accompanying narrative.

The audio walks will be presented in the Long Gallery, upstairs in the creative arts building from Tues 23rd of October to Friday 26th October.

Feel free to come and listen!
