Ross Bencina, distinguished music software designer, performer and composer from Melbourne, will be giving a guest lecture to Creative Arts students at 11:30am Thursday the 29th of July in room 107 building 25. All staff and students of the university are welcome to attend. Ross will be performing that evening at 1/4_Inch alongside Scott Sinclair and Hydatid (Both from Brisbane).

 
Red Hand in Wollongong
Long Gallery, Faculty of Creative Arts, Bldng 25

An exhibition of Red Hand Print Studio work will be held at the University of Wollongong Long Gallery from the 19th July - 6th August. The exhibition will include a series of posters printed by Red Hand over a 6 year period from 1997 that have been donated to the University of Wollongong Art Collection by Franck Gohier.

Dr. Kevin Orr, Asst. Prof. of Piano and Piano Pedagogy at the University of Florida and Director of the University of Florida young Pianists Festival, will be presenting 2 free concerts in the Wollongong area.
Concert 1: Thursday 22nd July at 12:30 pm at the UOW in building 25.107 (the CAT).

As Project #5 in the series CONTEMPORARY VISUAL ART PROJECTS SA 2004, the CACSA will present the second of three exhibitions, surveying the work of Australian artist and FCA Lecturer Jacky Redgate. Following the launch of the Survey in April with the first exhibition of early photo series, the second Survey exhibition will present a number of major three-dimensional bodies of work, including several Untitled series.

Transience of Place - An Exhibition of Paintings by David Manks
Opening 12:30pm Thursday 1st of July. There will also be an additional opening on for people living outside the Wollongong area on Saturday 3rd of July from 12pm.
 

Visual Arts undergraduate student Judith Ann Rudwick has won 2nd prize in the 2004 Royal Easter Show Abstract Sculpture competition and 1st prize in the 2004 Thirroul Seaside Festival "On The Shore" Recycled Art Work prize with her sculptures "Mars Effect" and "Two". Congratulations Judith!

First Class Honours graduate Zoe Steen is the recipient of University Medal for 2004, for her work and research in Performance Studies. Congratulations Zoe! Zoe was interviewed in the "After My Degree' website at the start of 2003.
