UOW student exhibits at 2004 Milan Spring Salon.
University of Wollongong MCA (research) student from the FCA, Graeme Hindmarsh, was selected as a finalist from a field of 2630 designers and institutions from 96 countries in the 2004 Macef International Design Award. The theme of the competition, "H2O on the table", required participants to design innovative objects for the table that contained water and culminated in an exhibition of the finalist's designs held at the prestigious Spring Salon in Milan, Italy Januaru 30th - February 2nd 2004.

Tracking Cloth Symposium - March 26th - 28th 2004
University of Wollongong and Wollongong City Gallery.

Tracking Cloth examines the hybridisation of textiles in contemporary Australian practice with a focus on the influences from cultures other than ones own, through the interface of travel, migration and trade. Practitioners, researchers and students are invited to the symposium to expand the dialogue surrounding the exhibition. Tracking Cloth will close at Wollongong City Gallery on March 28, 2004.

In The News:
Chris Mead, Lecturer with the FCA School of Music and Drama, has an article in 'Dialogue', The Australian Playwrights' Centre publication (Conference Issue), regarding his work as the Conference Curator, and the selection process of the plays submitted. There was also a news article in the Australian (Monday 9th Feb) on a similar theme.
Mukesh's artwork (Long Gallery) was previewed/mentioned in Saturday's Mercury.
An article about Andrew Schultz being commissioned by the Song Company and ABC Radio to compose a 50 minute interpretation of the ancient Song of Songs, was published in the Mercury Jan. 22nd.
Van Badham (PG student and playwright) was featured in the Mercury (9th January), regarding her writer in residence role (to begin March), at the London Academy of Music & Drama (LAMDA).
Rie Natalenko (DCA student in Creative Writing) was featured as the recipient of the 2003 Inside Film (IF) award, in an article in the Mercury, 6th January.
