UoW students perform at Hanoi International Festival of Experimental Theatre

A group of 8 graduating Performance students from the Faculty of Creative Arts were invited to present a devised performance at the Hanoi International Festival of Experimental Theatre in December 2006. The piece called Zugzwang was created through their Studio Practice Performance subject in 2005.

The students were the youngest performers at the festival and received television and radio coverage for their work. They were invited to Hue to present Zugzwang to students of traditional Vietnamese performance.
The eight students were, Eammon Bryant, Tom Downey, Hester Gascoigne, Heather Mitchell, Mark Pritchard, Emily Walker, Rhys Wilson and Annaliese Szota.

The inclusion of Zugzwang in this International Festival was arranged by Janys Hayes (Performance Lecturer with the School of Music and Drama) and is part of an ongoing collaboration between the UOW Performance area and the Vietnam-Australia Cultural Exchange Program run by Duong Le Quy and the Hanoi Academy of Theatre and Film.
