Media ReleaseA Man's A Man 16 October 2006 The University of Wollongong, School of Music & Drama, Spring performance schedule is well underway with next week launching the third performance of the season: "A Man's A Man". This funny, raucous and deliberately anti-militaristic play will be staged at UOW from Wednesday 18 October to Sunday 22 October and is a must-see for theatre goers and anyone looking for a great evening of entertainment. This year marks the 50th anniversary of playwright Bertolt Brecht's death, and this performance of one of his early plays questions how easily any man can be swayed into war-mongering. In a surprising contemporary twist, all the men in this unique production will be portrayed by women! The cast features second year Performance students as well as a live band and vocalists and provides an hysterical modernised account of one mans accidental journey to becoming a "fighting machine". Come along and see a man's a man, as you've never seen him before! A play by Bertolt Brecht Translated by Eric Bentley Directed by Janys Hayes When: 18 - 22 October @ 8.00pm Where: The Performance Space, Faculty of Creative Arts, Building 25, UOW Cost: $12 Adult, $8 Concession Bookings: Phone 02 4221 4889
