The Tones of Subjectivity
The tones of subjectivity allow each artist to collectively express and interpret selective moments of time, space and form. The individual notion of subjectivity is formulated within the artists statement of intention for the exhibition.
Organic Formations
artist Sandi Ridewood
The narrative of the landscape is an essence of tonal and cyclical changes that are in existence and sheltered across moments of time. Capturing the ecological shifts of changing conditions allows a progressive narration of the process of this change within the environment. This body of work intends to interpret those moments of light and shadow that exist within the organic formations of the landscape and in turn expresses The Tones of Subjectivity.
Animal Gaze
artist Shannon Dyson
My body of work is about the interaction, structure and appearance of animals. Capturing their life through a selection of paintings and photography. Looking at animals through close detail and seeing other images appear as landscapes through the images of the animals. Some images are manipulated to create others which humorous in the way the animal is represented.
The work also looks at the formation and manipulation of the animals body from embryo to what it is today. This subjectivity of animals is just one of The Tones of Subjectivity.
Subjective Interior
artist Pateena Donnelly
This work consists of paintings that lure the viewer to explore the concept of personal inner space. The viewer enters the space through doorways and windows that symbolize entry and exit points. The spatial construction keeps the viewer moving in and around the composition, and allows them to discover layers that lie beneath the surface of the canvas. The windows and doors plus layering of colour and shapes, represent the moving between the world that exists outside our self and the space that is self and offers a view to The Tones of Subjectivity.
