Spectacle of sight & sound!
A Festival of Music presented by 1/4 Inch, 28 & 29 April

1/4_Inch have an established record of hosting creative performance evenings to showcase new directions in audio and visual performance. These events provide a unique forum for people of all ages to experience the innovations being developed in both conventional and experimental forms of music using laptops, acoustic instruments, surround-sound and digital visual media.
This is a fantastic platform for emerging artists to present work alongside established practitioners. These performances not only highlight an extraordinary variety of new talent but have also been attracting reputable local and international musicians to the Illawarra.
To celebrate the success of these events and to satisfy the huge demand for encore performances and more showcases, this month 1/4_Inch presents an entire FESTIVAL OF LIVE MUSIC!
Friday 28 April & Saturday 29 April will bring you an audio and visual feast featuring Sydney and Wollongong's finest. The huge line-up that kick starts the event at the Wollongong Uni Bar on Friday night includes Severed Heads, Social Interiors, PA and Little Aida who join a truck load of artists playing apocalyptic electronic noise, sound art, dub and rock to entertain all throughout the night.
On Saturday afternoon from 2pm, software developer and sound artist Ross Bencina will be running a workshop on his shareware music application AudioMulch. This is open to beginners and advanced users alike and is strongly recommended for anyone who dreams of performing live electronic music.
Saturday from 6pm sees performances by instrument builder Donna Hewitt, sound artist Monica Brookes, Peter Blamey, Aaron Hull, Jasper Streit and Ross Bencina in the Performance Space of Building 25 - the Faculty of Creative Arts, University of Wollongong. Refreshments will be available and entry is a bargain so don't miss this chance to experience a once in a lifetime sound and sight spectacle!
