This program is designed to give talented students a high level of individual flexibility by offering them the chance to combine two major areas of study within their Bachelor of Creative Arts degree. Students can blend programs of study drawn from any two of the following major areas within the Bachelor of Creative Arts degree:
- Creative Writing
- Performance
- Sound - Music Composition and Production
- Visual Arts*
- Graphic Design*
- Media Arts*
* Combination not available in Dean's Scholars program
Dean's Scholars are allocated an academic mentor with whom they negotiate appropriate subject choices. Students gain access to designated study areas, and receive extended library privileges and printing and copying allowances. Dean's Scholars are encouraged to contribute to the scholarly life of the Faculty through to events in the Faculty's postgraduate program.
Dean's Scholars must maintain an average grade of 75 in each year of study to complete the program. If this requirement is not met, the student will be transferred into the Bachelor of Creative Arts degree, majoring in one area of study only.
Entry to the Dean's Scholars program is based on:
- UAI of 90+, PLUS
- high audition/interview attainments in two areas of study.
Applicants need to submit:
A UAC application nominating this degree as a preference; PLUS
a Bachelor of Creative Arts Application for Interview/Audition form
Students should also note that the Dean's Scholars Program:
