Mine Subsidence: A Community Issue
A conference jointly convened by the Mine Subsidence Technological Society and
the Wollongong Branch of the Australasian Institute of Mining and Metallurgy.
We hope to bring together operators, researchers, designers, regulators, geologists, subsidence and mining engineers, and interested community members.
The aim is to promote greater understanding amongst all parties interested in
mine subsidence, with emphasis on 6 key areas:
• Stability of man-made structures in a dynamic environment
• Mining impacts on groundwater and surface water
• Long-term stability of underground excavations
• Managing subsidence by effective mine design
• Ecological considerations for underground mining
• Community consultation in mine planning |
Papers and poster presentations on all aspects of mine
subsidence are invited.
