T-Shirts & Running Singlets:I hope the T-shirts and running singlets will be available from the UniCentre Shop on Wednesday 5th August (I will advise on this website if there is a delay). Please pick them up before 1 pm Friday and do wear them on Sunday. Any not collected by then will be available on Sunday at the bus stop before we leave for Sydney. A special thank you to the UniCentre staff for offering to do this.
Buses:The buses will leave from the University’s bus terminal in Northfield Avenue at 6:30 am SHARP and drop us off in Elizabeth Street opposite the start of the
Race Numbers:Race Packs are mailed out progressively starting from the first week in July to those entrants who specified having their race packs mailed to them. For those entrants who did not opt to have their race pack mailed OR entered after June 17, an E-Ticket will be emailed to you (or posted if you do not have an email address). You will need to print this off and take it to The Sun-Herald City2Surf Event Expo between August 3 and August 8 located at the Hyde Park Barracks (see Map 4). *Note: You cannot pick up your Race Pack on race day. There will be no exceptions to these mailing dates.
Bags and Things:Aim to travel light. Because we have the buses available to us at the finish you can leave a bag on the bus but remember that you may not return on the same bus as the one that takes you there. Please put a name tag on your bag so that they can be transferred down the line as each bus leaves so that we don't
Water/Drinks:There are plenty of water stops along the route so there is no need to carry water unless you want to. The professional advice is to make sure you drink before you NEED to drink during the race particularly if it turns out to be hot.
Meeting Point / Refreshments:The meeting point after the race/run/walk is the Bondi Beach Public School almost directly opposite the finish line across the road in Campbell Parade. I will have maps available on the buses. Refreshments are being provided by the UniCentre again this year (Thank you Mike Gilmore ).
Bus Return:Depending on circumstances I hope to have the first bus leaving for the University at around 12:30 pm. The others will follow as required. Remember that we are a team and need to travel back in bus load chunks as we cannot leave anyone behind. The last bus usually leaves at around 3:00 pm.
Charity:This year I am again trying to coordinate raising a little money for a charity as part of the University’s “UOW Cares” theme.
