Bringing water recycling into the mainstream is a two-day seminar that will present an integrated multi-disciplinary approach to water recycling. It will report the current knowledge and experience from around the world and consider future information and knowledge needed for water authorities, industry professionals and policy makers to take reuse from iconic pioneering schemes to an established normal part of mainstream water management.
From research to the mainstream…
This seminar will showcase the internationalresearch undertaken on scientific, technological, management and social aspects of water recycling in the European AQUAREC and Australian Oz-AQUAREC projects on integrated water reuse. This will be presented in a forum focused on what is needed to channel the growing volume of experience, research findings and discussion into a practical form that will take water recycling into the mainstream in widely differing locations with diverse management and regulatory conditions.
Bringing water recycling into the mainstream will present the outcomes of investigations from the internationalresearch so that it can best be applied to inform and influence practice and policy for water agencies, governments and communities. A workshop session will seek feedback from those involved in practice and policy on unresolved issues and policy, regulatory and planning frameworks as well as community consultation and engagement programmes that need to be addressed to help guide future research.
