Highlights of the University of Wollongong Tour
Some interesting features in various schools and faculties at the University of Wollongong:
• School of Earth and Environmental Sciences: Howard Worner Collection - 1000 exquisite mineral and rock specimens, plus Howard’s medals of excellence
• School of Chemistry: Biological Mass Spectrometry Facility - from drugs, to fatty acids to proteins, DNA and molecular machines
• Faculty of Health and Behavioural Science: Human Whole Room Calorimeter - unlocking the mysteries of obesity
• Graduate School of Medicine: Say hello to SimMan, the emergency simulation mannequin
• Faculty of Engineering: Drop hammer - testing rig for steel and concrete structures subject to extreme loads such as impact and blast

UOW Campus Tree Walk
Wollongong University campus is beautifully landscaped with many native trees and shrubs. Species of eucalypt and rainforest trees, which are indigenous to the Illawarra Environs dominate this landscaping. The Campus Tree Walk is an introduction to a cross section of these trees and to the characteristics which distinguish them from each other. The tour will be lead by Belinda Pellow, Herbarium Curator, Janet Cosh Herbarium, School of Biological Sciences.
