About the TechNet 2008 National Conference

The National TechNet Australia conference with be hosted by the University of Wollongong on the 3rd, 4th and 5th December 2008.

Entitled "Technical Staff - Catalysts for Innovation" the theme is aimed to acknowledge and celebrate the role of Technical Staff in supporting change and innovation in the Higher Education sector and relevant public and private sector organisations within Australia and New Zealand.   

A number of presentations by technical staff from varying disciplines are offered alongside a poster display, campus tours, workshops and a trade display. The program will comprise of three parallel streams of talks based on the nature of papers presented. If you are a technical professional in the Sciences, Health and Medical Sciences, Environmental Sciences, Animal Sciences, Creative Arts, Engineering, Education, Information Technology, Instrument laboratories or Workshops we would welcome your contribution in presenting a paper or preparing a poster display.

A social program including a welcome function and conference dinner provides opportunities to meet, mingle and exchange information with other technical staff.

These extremely successful conferences have been held for over 10 years and aim to increase the profile of technical staff; encourage collaboration between institutions; provide a forum for the exchange of knowledge and to represent the technical staff community.
