Young Scientist Awards
1. Young Scientist Award -Travel Grant
Young Scientist Award –Travel Grant will help young researchers with research field relevant to SSD participate at SSD Summer School and/or Solid State Dosimetry (SSD16) conference.
Condition of this award is an abstract accepted for presentation at SSD 16.
Successful applicants will be paid up to $1000 towards their registration with SSD Summer School and/or SSD 16 conference.
Applicants should submit to Secretariat SSD 16(Karen Ford kford@uow.edu.au) their application using Reduced Registration Fee application form which is available from “Printables” and attach copy of their submitted abstract and brief Biography.
The Young Scientist Award is very competitive. Abstract(s) should be submitted by 31 March 2010 and application for Young Scientist Award –Travel Grant should be submitted no later than 16th April 2010.

2. Young Scientist Award - The Best Oral Presentation Award
The Best Poster Presentation Award will be awarded to a young scientist presenting a poster at SSD 16. They can be a Master student, PhD student, or young researcher with not more that 6 years since completing their highest degree. The plaque and cash prize of $200 will be awarded on the last day of the conference at the closing ceremony.

For enrolment in this award competition you should submit abstract of the paper with request for oral presentation and additionally send request to SSD 16 secretariat (Karen Ford kford@uow.edu.au) that oral presentation should be considered for this award if accepted.
All applicants for this award will be provided 5 minutes to make their oral presentation and there will be 2 minutes of question time following this. All presentations will be judged by reputable experts in dosimetry. Young Scientists should prepare a 5 minute powerpoint presentation clearly summarising their findings and presenting a clear conclusion to their work. Presentations will be held on September 20th, 13:30 - 14:45 in the Grand Ballroom.
