Proposals to Host SSD17

Since 1995, the International Solid State Dosimetry Organization, ISSDO, promotes and assists in the organization of the triennial Solid State Dosimetry Conferences, ensuring their continuity.

ISSDO currently invites the submission of proposals from interested individuals and/or organizations to host SSD17, the 17th International Solid State Dosimetry Conference to be held in 2013.

Criteria considered by the ISSDO in the selection of the venue include the proposed conference location, the economics of participation, an appropriate local sponsoring organisation, and a proposed budget.

It is desirable that potential conference participation be maximised and that, over the long term, the conference be held in different parts of the world where significant work has been carried out in the solid state dosimetry arena.

It is also desirable that training courses, such as a "Summer School", be offered as part of the Conference-related activities.

A written proposal addressing the criteria reported above must be sent by electronic mail before August 16 , 2010 to the Chairman of ISSDO:

A representative of the venue is also expected to attend SSD16 and present the proposal to the members of the ISSDO in attendance at the conference.

The ISSDO members will evaluate the proposals and, if a selection is possible, the venue of SSD17 will be announced before the conclusion of SSD16.
