We are welcoming you join us at the 2008 MMD/IPCT (Micro Mini Dosimetry / International Workshop on New technologies of Prostate Cancer Treatments).
The conference will be held at the University of Wollongong. Wollongong has a seductive outdoor lifestyle, exciting events and great natural beauty. This cosmopolitan city is surrounded by the iconic beaches, World Heritage areas, lush hinterland and acclaimed wine regions.
The International Workshop on Micro- and Mini-Dosimetry (MMD-2008)
MMD-2008 aims to discuss the current status of sensors for modeling the response of biological cells to mixed radiation fields typical of radiation protection and radiation therapy applications. MMD-2008 is hosted by the Centre for Medical Radiation Physics and will be held at the University of Wollongong, this workshop will bring together experts in: radiation effects in semiconductor micro and nano-structures, clinicians, radiobiologists, radiation oncologists and medical physicists. The workshop will be comprised of a number of oral and poster sessions for which attendees are invited to submit. MMD-2008 will be followed by the International Prostate Cancer Treatment workshop (see below). MMD-2008 Chairmen: Prof Anatoly Rosenfeld and Prof John Dicello.
The International Prostate Cancer Treatment Workshop (IPCT-2008)
This workshop will address recent developments in: permanent implant brachytherapy, HDR/PDR prostate brachytherapy, IMRT based treatment, proton therapy, Image Guided Radiotherapy(IGRT), TomoTherapy, cryotherapy, surgery and Targeted Alpha Therapy (TAT). This workshop is hosted by the Centre for Medical Radiation Physics, University of Wollongong in collaboration with: Illawarra Cancer Care Centre, Wollongong; St. Vincents Hospital, Sydney; the Department of Radiation Oncology, Royal Prince Alfred Hospital; St. George Cancer Care Centre, Kogarah, Sydney; the NSW Prostate Cancer Institute; and Memorial Sloan Kettering Cancer Centre, New York, USA. The workshop will be comprised of a number of oral and poster sessions for which attendees are invited to submit abstracts here.
