COAL2009 will be held over two days in February 2009 at the University of Wollongong. The Conference is organised jointly between the University of Wollongong, and the Illawarra Branch of The Australasian Institute of Mining and Metallurgy. The Conference will address issues related to various aspects of modern coal mining operations. Accordingly, abstracts are invited from the following topics:

Heading development, longwall mining, bord and pillar mining, hydraulic mining

Ground control, instrumentation, rock bolting, mine subsidence, strata management

Mine ventilation, mine gas drainage and outburst control, mine fires and control, mine dust and control, and risk managment
