How does the Availability work?
The availability module gives students the opportunity to specify day(s) & times they can/cannot attend campus (due to other commitments.
TPS will consult the availability information when processing the preferences and try to allocate/avoid these nominated days & times where ever possible.
To enter availability click onto the link above or from the left hand drop down menu (Use TPS Preference Mode)
Availability Criteria
- Blank entries for the FULL week indicate that you are available any time during the week (ie: you did not enter a start/end time for any of the days)
- A blank entry for a day(s) indicates that you are not available for that day
View example Availability
- Every time you adjust your tutorial preferences, you will need to re-enter your availability
- Ensure that your availability covers the required number of preference choices for each subject - otherwise TPS will place you in a random class, since you have indicated that none of the class times are suitable
- Do not restrict your availability to one or two days, as most classes are spread over a number of days, TPS may not be able to allocate a class for the resticted days, and may allocate you a class outside of your availablity
Criteria Rules
-
Availability must met one of the following rules:
- one (1) preference if three (3) or less preference choices are required for each class type within a subject, OR
- two (2) preferences if four (4) or more preferences choices are required for each class type within a subject
- Some of your preferences may be excluded even though they fall within your availability, you may have selected a lecture time as not available
