The People and Organization Research Centre was established in 2007 as a strategic research direction in the Faculty of Commerce.
Our main objectives are:
- To establish and maintain a group of nationally and internationally recognised scholars in people and organization in order to facilitate research in organizational change, critical studies, identity, international dimensions, and new and precarious systems;
- To achieve excellence in research into people and organization;
- To promote active collaborative research projects with industry, government, local and international institutions in the field of people and organization;
- To be a driver of social innovation;
- To disseminate research findings on people and organization and their application through quality academic publications, seminars and conferences;
- To demonstrate societal benefit through our research contributing to nationally and internationally identified research priorities;
- To encourage research and teaching interchanges with scholars from other institutions who work in this field;
- To achieve excellence in teaching and mentoring early and emerging members and (Honours, Masters and PhD) students for academic, research and organizational careers in this area;
Centre research is of world class standing, demonstrated by top-tier, highly ranked refereed journal articles, the securing of competitive external and university research funding, and the outstanding individual achievements of our researchers.
Continuous and fixed-term University of Wollongong staff who are research-active, and whose research fits within the Centre’s identified programs, are eligible for full membership. Non-staff research students, scholars from other universities and industry/government and other affiliates with whom the Centre has active and related research based ties are eligible for associate membership.
