Matt has an abiding interest in the cultural dimensions of international management, particularly in the Asia Pacific region; he teaches Cross Cultural management at the undergraduate and post graduate levels and is researching networks in inter-governmental relations in international cooperative institutions such as the Asia Pacific Economic Cooperation (APEC) Forum. He represented Australia at the Human Resources Development in Industrial Technology (HURDIT) Network of the Asia Pacific Economic Cooperation (APEC) from 1993-1999. His work experience includes public sector management, policy development and implementation in cross-cultural contexts. His other academic interests include organizational behavior of international regimes and interorganisational relations theory. In 1991, Matt was awarded the Churchill Fellowship (Community Relations Strategies in Western Europe and SE Asia).
