About our Research
Marketing and Public relations at the University of Wollongong contain a vibrant research group, many with extensive industry experience, as verified via the classification of 'World Standard' in the recent Excellence for Research in Australia measurement exercise (ERA 2010), placing Marketing joint 5th on a national level. Dr Venkat Yanamandram (Acting) is the Associate Head of School and Head of Marketing and Public Relations. Professor John Rossiter is Australia's most cited Marketing scholar (Social Sciences Citation Index). He has recently published his ninth book, Measurement in the Social Sciences.
Professor Sara Dolnicar is the Director of the Marketing Research Innovation Centre (MRIC) with co-director Dr Lois Burgess. Sara is also a co-director of the Institute for Innovation in Business and Social Research (IIBSoR), one of the Universities research strengths. The key focus is to develop and test innovative and reliable qualitative and quantitative measures within business, management, marketing, tourism and social services.
Dr Alan Pomering and Associate Professor Gary Noble co-direct the Centre for Research in Socially Responsible Marketing (CRSRM), focusing primarily on: social marketing; corporate social responsibility; and sustainability. The centre covers the public, private and non-profit sectors. Its aim is to conduct collaborative research on the role of marketing in achieving positive outcomes for society in ethical, social, and environmental contexts.
