Background

Rafi Chowdhury graduated from the University of Alberta, Canada with a PhD in Marketing in 2006. He has also earned an MBA from the University of Kansas, USA and a BBA from the Institute of Business Administration, University of Dhaka, Bangladesh. His primary research interests are in affective responses to advertising, particularly in relation to visual elements within an advertisement. He is also interested in innovative marketing communication techniques (e.g., split-screen advertising, product placements etc.). He has teaching experience as a sessional lecturer in the Department of Marketing at the University of Alberta. Prior to his academic career, Rafi worked as a management trainee and assistant brand manager for Unilever Bangladesh.
