Research Interests
My doctoral dissertation relates to the development of a Climate of Trust within new Product Development Teams. I also have an interest in Social Marketing and am a member of the Centre for Social Marketing.
Background
I completed my Bachelor's degree at the University of Wollongong as part of a marketing traineeship with BHP Steel (now BlueScope Steel). During this time I was exposed to many segments of their marketing department culminating in a graduate position in Market Development that was the beginning of my interest in New Products. From there I moved to Locus, a smaller, legal software company based in Sydney where as the sole marketing resource I worked closely with both management and sales, highlighting the importance of relationships in intra-organisational teams. My family then moved to the country where I took up a position with MoneyLink, a very small financial planning company, where my role took on many responsibilities including marketing. This diverse range of experience has exposed me to industrial through consumer to services marketing in firms ranging from one of the largest in Australia to a sole proprietor. Each experience has contributed to my research interest and is used in my teaching to offer meaningful, real-life examples. Since starting at UoW in 2005 I have enrolled in my PhD and have lectured a range of subjects from 1st to 3rd year that include: Marketing Principles; Consumer Behaviour; and Developing and Marketing New Products. In 2007 I expect to expand on these to include a post-graduate subject.
